A year ago I got off the fence

That was when Mia and I decided that for the kids' sake we had to get active in our local community. Since then we work a day a week on climate change initiatives. So when we're not busy with our work in publishing and film, we keep ourselves busy with the offshore wind park we are part of building here on the swedish west coast, or a fun new project to construct an electrically powered dayboat.

It is contentious in some ways for a journalist to take a position like this. My first news editor back in BBC radio would have had a few (obscene) things to say about it, no doubt. I've decided I can live with the professional identity crisis. I can't live with not taking action on climate change.

Current affairs in the world of fuels and the process industry

The columns I write as European Editor of the process industry magazine, Hydrocarbon Processing, are gathered and updated here. I believe they provide a good orientation for people joining the refining industry or moving to the region.

Letters from climate sceptics

It's right that people come into the climate change debate with their eyes wide open, nostrals flared and critical faculties revving. And if you too find yourself having to argue the case for long-term, sustainable thinking in energy policy and business, then you may find my watershed global warming column and the correspondence I've gathered here useful.

Freelance assignments, copywriting, executive interviews for print, film and broadcast

Award a lucrative writing or film assignment to our company Life Events Media, like the conference brochure we just wrote for Shell, and Mia and I will make a little more time, energy and money for our project to create a winning model of sustainable development here in the Gothenburg Archipelago. Once we're sure you're happy with the result, that is.

We're not big, but we've undertaken big assignments. Mia has a career behind her as a producer and director at National Geographic and Discovery Channel, while in my journalism and events work I've interviewed or shared a podium with international figures such as Tony Blair, EU Vice President Margot Wallström, former Peugeot Citroën CEO Jean-Martin Folz, and former Shell Chairman Lord Ron Oxburgh. For corporate story-telling for annual reports, co-written articles or executive interviews feel free to get in touch.

Biofuels 2007

This is my next assignment for a global audience of around 30,000 engineers and managers in the energy industry. Feel free to contact me with ideas, news and to have a technical article considered for this supplement to Hydrocarbon Processing magazine.
